What Happens When You Go to Closing?

What happens when you go to closing on a home? A lot goes on! In this video, let’s go through the closing process so that you know what to expect, “What Happens When You Go to Closing?”:

What Happens at Closing?

So you’re about to go to closing…congratulations! This is an exciting time, even if it seems overwhelming! So let’s go over what happens during a closing so you know what to expect. Several things happen at the closing table. Prior to getting to the closing table, you will receive a copy of the closing table. Your lender will go over your numbers along with your real estate agent. Be sure to ask any questions about the closing statement that you are not sure about.

When you get to the attorney’s office, again, the attorney is going to go over the closing statement, and this will be your last opportunity to ask questions. So if you don’t understand something, stop and ask the question.

Once you finish signing all of the papers at closing and get a copy of your new deed, you’ll have an opportunity (if the seller is there) to ask the seller about the property. You may have questions about operating a system in the home, maybe you have questions about turning the heat on or cleaning a pool. Whatever questions about the home or property you have, now is the time to ask!

You’ll also get the new keys to your home! As soon as closing is over, you’ll get to go to your new home and start the move-in process! Closing can feel overwhelming, so be prepared and jot down a list of questions you have about the closing statement and/or your new home.
