Should you get pre-approved before you start looking for a home? Definitely! Let’s find out some good reasons why you should get pre-approved for a mortgage before you start home shopping in this video, “Why Should You Get Pre-Approved?”
Benefits of Getting Pre-Approved
There are many benefits to getting pre-approved before looking for a home. If you’re going through the homebuying process, there are a lot of different loans out there that you may qualify for! So talk to a loan officer and find out your options before you start searching for a home.
Find out what your budget is, how much you’re comfortable spending every month on a monthly mortgage plus your utilities (and other homeowners expenses like we covered in the previous post, “What Expenses Are You Going to Have When Buying a House?”
Plus, once you talk to your lender and you know exactly how much you can afford to pay as your monthly mortgage, your lender will tell you the value of the home that you need to look for. For instance, if you’re looking for a $200K home, you don’t need to see homes that are priced higher than this as those homes will be outside of your budget.
Afterall, you do not want to fall in love with a home only to find out that you can’t afford it! So get pre-approved before you start your home search and look for homes that are within your budget.
