The holidays are officially here! Now that Thanksgiving is over we can finally all celebrate the Christmas season without any reservations. In this post we’re going to share with you seven of our top favorite places to see Christmas lights in the Birmingham area.
Vulcan Park and Museum
Magic of Lights
December 8th – 23rd from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
This is the second annual event for the holiday lights at the top of Birmingham. The Vulcan is a popular spot in the Birmingham area, so don’t miss out on this nightly show!
Birmingham Zoo
ZooLight Safari
December 6th – 8th, 13th – 23rd, and the 26th – 30th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The Birmingham Zoo knows how to celebrate every occasion. There will be Christmas music, smores, crafts, and more in addition to the holiday lights. It’s the perfect family friendly event for the season!
Downtown:
Linn Park
Regions Center
The iconic Christmas lights downtown come from both Linn Park and the Regions Center building. You can’t miss these huge displays while driving around the city.
The Summit

Although there are no shows, the Summit is a Christmas sight to see! Enjoy all of the decorations while you shop or grab some dinner with family and friends!

Richardson Family Christmas Light Show

This family sure knows how to decorate! The Richardson Family puts on a show every Christmas season. They even have a radio station you can tune into to that syncs up with the light display! Be sure to drive by this home to see what the fuss is all about.

Of course, while Birmingham offers plenty of Christmas lights to view, here are our top favorites outside of the Bham area.
Christmas at the Falls in Gadsden

Huntsville Botanical Gardens
Galaxy of Lights
November 29th – December 31st from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm
This huge display is a sight to see! Holiday lights are displayed all around the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. This event can be walked through or driven through during certain times. There arebike nights and dog walk nights! Check out the website for more details and plan your trip!
