In this post I’m sharing where to see fireworks in Birmingham and where you can celebrate the fourth of July in the Birmingham, Alabama area! Please note that not all of the events below take place on the fourth of July, so you can spend each day over the weekend celebrating at a different place! 🎇🇺🇸

Thunder on the Mountain
At Downtown Birmingham at The Vulcan
Date/Time: Tuesday, July 4th from 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm
This is really the main event in Birmingham during the Fourth of July! If you haven’t seen Thunder on the Mountain, then maybe this year is the year! Fire on the Water
At Oak Mountain
Date/Time: Monday, July 3rd from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Oak Mountain is one of my favorite places to ‘get away’ in the Birmingham area, and it’s a great place to celebrate the Fourth of July! Enjoy time outdoors hiking, biking, swimming, or even grilling! Then enjoy the firework show once night falls. Make a day out of celebrating the 4th of July at the largest park in Alabama. Learn more about Oak Mountain State park here.
Independence Day 1776
At American Village in Montevallo
Date/Time: Tuesday, July 4th from 11:00 am – 9:00 pm (no entry after 8:00 pm)
American Village is the perfect place to take the family for the Fourth of July! Take the kids and travel back in time together at this wonderful spot. Doors open at 11:00 am and there are over forty events going on to celebrate Independence Day! Stay all day and then watch the fireworks at nightfall at 9:00.
Veterans, active military, and children under 4 get in free! Regular admission for this event is $5.

City of Hoover Fireworks Show 2023
At the Hoover Met Complex
Date/Time: Sunday, July 2nd at 9:00 pm
Enjoy this free event in Hoover, Alabama on Sunday night! Grab your chairs and head to the Hoover Met parking lot to enjoy fireworks. Make an evening of it and head in the area early for dinner and a stop by the local brewery, Brock’s Gap Brewing Company.

Fireworks Show 2023 – in Alabaster, AL
At Thompson High School
Date/Time: Saturday, July 1st from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Looking for a way to celebrate the 4th on a Saturday? Then attend this annual event in Alabaster, Al! You and the kids are sure to love the firework celebration. There will be bounce houses, games, and food trucks, so you are sure to be entertained while waiting for the fireworks at 9:00 pm!

Trussville Freedom Celebration
At the Mall in Trussville
Date/Time: Tuesday, July 4th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Food, a DJ, and fireworks? Count us in! If you’re close to Trussville, then celebrate Independence day at the Mall! Take the whole crew and enjoy a fourth of July celebration you’re sure to remember. Entry is free.

Baseball Game Downtown: Birmingham Barons vs Trash Pandas Weekend Games
At Regions Field
Date/Time: Friday, June 30th at 7:05 pm; Sunday, July 2nd at 6:30; and Monday, July 3rd at 6:05
Baseball, hotdogs, fireworks – is there anything more American? Spend the Fourth of July at a barons game! There will be fireworks after the Friday, Sunday, and Monday games. While you’re downtown, you might as well find a spot to watch Thunder on the Mountain after the game is over so you’re prepared for Tuesday’s 4th of July fireworks.
