No Fourth of July celebration in Birmingham is more iconic than Thunder on the Mountain. This annual tradition is Alabama’s largest fireworks show and returns in 2026 to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday.

More than 2,500 fireworks effects will be launched from Red Mountain in a spectacular display synchronized to patriotic music broadcast across local radio stations. The show is visible from numerous locations throughout Birmingham and Homewood.

If you’ve never experienced Thunder on the Mountain before, this is the year to do it!


Fire on the Water
