Where to see Fireworks in Birmingham (for the Fourth of July 2022)

America’s Independence Day is almost here! What are you doing to celebrate the fourth of July? If you plan on staying in the Birmingham area, get ready! There are tons of things to do over the holiday weekend!

In this post I’m sharing where to see fireworks in Birmingham and how you can celebrate the fourth of July in the Birmingham, Alabama area! Please note for the events below that not all of them take place on the fourth of July, so you can spend each day over the weekend celebrating at a different place! 🧨🎆🇺🇸

Where are you planning on seeing the fourth of July fireworks? Let me know in the comments below!

Thunder on the Mountain

At Downtown Birmingham at The Vulcan

Date/Time: Monday, July 4th from 9:00 pm – 9:30 pm

This is really the main event in Birmingham during the Fourth of July. If you haven’t seen Thunder on the Mountain, this year is the year. Check out their website and make plans to grab a seat early so you have a good spot!

Fire on the Water

At Oak Mountain

Date/Time: Sunday, July 3rd from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Oak Mountain is one of my favorite places to ‘get away’ in the Birmingham area, and that’s no different on the Fourth of July! Enjoy time outdoors hiking, biking, swimming, or even grilling! Then enjoy the firework show once night falls. Make a day out of celebrating the 4th of July.

Independence Day 1776

At American Village in Montevallo

Date/Time: Monday, July 4th from 11:00 am – dusk

American Village is back open for business this Fourth of July! Take the kids and travel back in time together at this wonderful spot. Doors open at 11:00am and there are over forty events going on to celebrate Independence Day! Stay all day and then watch the fireworks at nightfall.

Fireworks Show 2022 – in Alabaster

At Thompson High School

Date/Time: Saturday, July 2nd from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Live close to Alabaster? Then attend this annual event! You and the kids are sure to love the firework celebration close to home (and it will be less crowded than one of the large events closer to the 4th!). There will be bounce houses, games, and food trucks, so you are sure to be entertained while waiting for the fireworks!

Trussville Freedom Celebration

At the Mall in Trussville

Date/Time: Monday July 4th from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Food, a DJ, and fireworks? Count us in! If you’re close to Trussville, then celebrate Independence day at the Mall! Take the whole crew and enjoy a fourth of July celebration you’re sure to remember.

Baseball Game Downtown: Birmingham Barons vs Tennessee Smokies

At Regions Field

Date/Time: Monday, July 4th – game starts at 6:30 pm

Baseball, hotdogs, fireworks – is there anything more American? Spend the Fourth of July at a barons game! There will be fireworks and while you’re downtown, you might as well find a spot to watch Thunder on the Mountain after the game is over!
