Wild Timber neighborhood is located in Shelby County, located in Pelham, Alabama, 35124. Wild Timber is about 25 miles south of Birmingham, Alabama. It is 5.5 miles from the Publix shopping center, located in Pelham Towne Center, which also has restaurants, including a local favorite, Smiley Brothers. The neighborhood is approximately 5.7 miles from Interstate 65.
If you read our last post on the Grey Oaks neighborhood, this may feel familiar – and that’s because the entrance to Wild Timber is straight across from Grey Oaks! In the next section, let’s look at how current residents feel about living in the Grey Oaks neighborhood.
Living in Wild Timber
Wild Timber is a peaceful neighborhood to live in in the Pelham area. People who live there state on Nextdoor that they enjoy living in the neighborhood because it’s family friendly, peaceful, a great atmosphere, a great community, and it has plenty of walking space for residents and dogs, residents love their yards, landscaping, and the overall atmosphere of this community.
Some of the top interests that residents in Wild Timber enjoy are gardening and landscaping, traveling, hiking (which is no surprise since they are right next to Oak Mountain), dogs, grilling out, and watching live music.

Homes in Wild Timber
The homes in Wild Timber are known for having larger woody lots and most of the homes are larger as well. Homes in Wild Timber are between two to four sided brick, and between two to three stories. Most of these homes also have car garages that will hold two to three cars. Since some of the homes back up to Oak Mountain State park, you don’t have to worry about future homes being built behind your lot.
If you’re looking for new construction, then don’t miss out on homes in Wild Timber! As of 2022, there are still lots available; so if you’re looking to build your home, then Wild Timber may just be the neighborhood for you! Pricing for homes in Wild Timber range between $400 – $600K. There are more expensive homes as well, so this neighborhood offers a variety of options.

Wild Timber Neighborhood School Zones

What’s Closeby to Wild Timber?
While Wild Timber has a remote feel, it’s actually quite close to the city of Pelham! As mentioned, it’s minutes away from Pelham Towne Center, which also means it’s close to the Pelham City Racquet Club. Downtown Pelham, if taken by North I-65 and getting off at exit 246 is about 17.3 miles away, which takes you to more restaurants and grocery shopping in the area, including Chick-Fil-A, Creekside BBQ, Cracker Barrel, The Juicy Seafood, Oak Mountain Brewery, and more!
Joe’s Italian is another popular restaurant located at the entrance of the Weatherly neighborhood and is 6.1 miles away from Wild Timber, located on County Road 11. Another nearby shopping and restaurant area is the Colonial Promenade, which is actually located in Alabaster and is 10.1 miles South when taken by I65. There is a Target, Walmart, HomeGoods, JCPenney, Belk, and more shopping! Popular restaurants include Barrio’s Buffalo Wild Wings, LongHorn, Olive Garden, Panera, Jim ‘N Nick’s, and more! There’s even a movie theater in the shopping area.
