Whether you’re a fan of pumpkin patches, fall festivals, or something scarier like haunted houses, there’s something for everyone this month!

Pumpkin Patches in the Greater Birmingham and Surrounding Areas

Pumpkin patches are a great way to get in the October spirit! There are plenty of pumpkin patches in the Greater Birmingham area, and we’ve included a few that are a bit farther out as well. 

Helena Hollow

Visit this local pumpkin patch in Helena! There is also a kid friendly hayride. It’s a great place to celebrate the October season with your family and friends. 

Pumpkin Junction at The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum

Another local place to get in the Fall season spirit is at The Heart of Dixie Railroad. There will be a hayride, inflatables, and a corn maze in addition to the pumpkin patch!

The Great Pumpkin Patch

Located in Hayden, AL, this pumpkin patch located on a farm will give you all the fall vibes!

Penton Farms

Fall Festivals in the Birmingham Area

Fall Festivals and events are a more family friendly way to celebrate the Fall season! There are plenty of events going on in the month of October that you can attend with friends or small children. The festivals below are in order by date:

Hoots & Howls: Daytime Halloween Event at the Birmingham Zoo

Location: Birmingham Zoo

Tannehill State Park Haunted Hayrides/Ghost Tours

Time: Starting at 6:00 pm

Fall Fest 2023

Location: Buck Creek Trail

Date: Saturday, October 28th, 2023

Alabaster presents the Fall Fest 2023 at Buck Creek Trail! There will be arts and crafts, hay rides, carnival rides for children, trick or treating for kids, pumpkin painting, and more!

If something scary is more your style in October, then Birmingham won’t disappoint! There are so many haunted houses to choose from in the Birmingham area! Spook Trail Maze

The Birmingham Historic Touring Company
