Pelham City Park is such a gem for the City of Pelham! This park has so much to offer everyone of every age. From courts and fields for most every sport, a dog park, splash pad, a trail over 6 miles, and more, let’s take a look Pelham City Park located in Pelham, Alabama here (and keep reading to learn more!):
Pelham City Park
Pelham City Park is located off of Highway 31 in Pelham. This large, dog friendly, sports centered park is located behind the new Pelham Public Library and Pelham Park Middle School. On the other side of the park runs Bearden Road, which is full of neighborhoods and the park is right down the road from Pelham High School.
The City Park Complex for this Pelham City Park includes a new Recreation Center, baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, the Pelham Park Pavilion, a dog park for both small and large dogs, a playground (called Pelham Playstation – adorable name, right?), and more! Contact the city about reserving fields and courts for games or events.

There’s a six and a half mile walking path called the Greenway Trail that runs through Pelham City Park and leads to the Pelham dog park and new splash pad area. You can even follow the walking trail along Bearden Road up to Pelham High School and see homes along the way! The Greenway Trail project is undergoing and soon this walking trail will connect to the entrance of Oak Mountain State Park. We’ll cover this park a little later in this blog!
There is now even a new splash pad that opened in this park in August 2023! It’s right next to the dog park, so you can walk from the Recreation Center parking lot on the Greenway Trail to the Splash Pad, or park in the parking lot right next to it! You can see the fields from this location. Pelham City Park is definitely growing and we can’t wait to see the additions to this already wonderful gem in Pelham.
You can spend an entire day here with all of the different activities that are offered! There are also plenty of restaurants nearby on Highway 31, so you have places to choose from when you get hungry.

This next one is not technically outdoors, but for a hockey game, or to go ice skating, you can go to the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena. (500 Amphitheater Rd, Pelham, AL 35124)
While we’re at it, there are plenty of places in Pelham to eat outside while the weather is nice! Some local favorites include Margarita Grill, Creekside BBQ, and McAlisters! There are also two breweries, Oak Mountain Brewing Company (located off of Highway 119 or Cahaba Valley Road) and Beer Hog (down the road off of Highway 31) where you can sit outside and enjoy a cold drink. The Canopy Park complex is also underway and this is a great location with apartments, shopping, and dining – including TacoMac which opened in September of 2023.
