How Soon Does a Buyer Need to Close?

It’s important to know up front when the best time will be for the buyer to close. This is going to help the selling process and get a timeline setup for closing.

Your listing agent should ask how soon the buyer needs to close. This can depend on why the buyer is purchasing a new home in the first place. Buyers usually like to close when they need to close, so keep in mind why they are buying: are the buyers relocating, do the buyers need to be out of another home or apartment on a certain date, do the buyers need a quick close, or do the buyers have time?

When is the best time for a buyer to close? It all depends on their needs!

The closing date should be part of your negotiations with the buyer. Knowing the buyer’s deadlines will help you as a seller in the negotiation process. Your listing agent should ask your buyers how soon they need to close.
